En 1874 à La Cote-aux-Fées, Georges Edouard Piaget fonde une des maisons d’horlogerie qui en quelques décennies devient synonyme de luxe et de grande précision. L’entreprise est héritée et dirigée par le fils Timothée en 1911.
Le nom Piaget est enregistré en 1943. Dès lors, le laboratoire commence à produire et à vendre des montres portant la marque de la maison. C’est donc une seconde naissance pour la manufacture, grâce notamment à l’arrivée des deux neveux du fondateur, Gérard et Valentin, qui ne ménagent aucun effort pour favoriser l’expansion géographique de la marque et œuvrer à l’accroissement de sa notoriété. Très vite les commandes affluent, rendant nécessaire la modernisation de l’ancien laboratoire ainsi que la construction d’une fabrique plus grande pour développer la technologie des mouvements mécaniques ultra plat.

In 1874, in La Cote-aux-Fées, Georges Edouard Piaget founded a watchmaking company that within a few decades was to become one of the most popular options for those in search of luxury and precision. In 1911 the company was taken over by the founder’s son, Thimotée. In 1943 the “Piaget” brand name was registered and the company began to sign and sell watches under its own name. It was a second birth for Piaget, due principally to Gérald and Valentin Piaget, the founder’s grandsons, who worked to expand the brand geographically, with the intention of making it more widely-known. During this time, the production units were worked at maximum capacity and, very soon, the old workshops were modernised.

Nel 1943 il nome “Piaget” viene registrato e il laboratorio inizia a produrre e vendere orologi contrassegnati dal marchio aziendale, ma è nel 1847 che Georges Edouard Piaget fonda la celebre maison a La Cote-aux-Fées, poi ereditata e portata avanti dal figlio Thimotée nel 1911. Con l’arrivo in azienda dei due nipoti del fondatore, Gerard e Valentin, aumenta l’impegno per espandere l’azienda e renderla maggiormente conosciuta sul territorio. Ben presto gli affari conoscono una forte crescita e si rende necessario una modernizzazione del laboratorio storico, nonché la costruzione di una nuova fabbrica più grande, nella quale sviluppare la tecnologia dei movimenti meccanici ultra-piatti. Nel 1957 la maison realizza il Calibre 9P, un orologio da tasca a carica manuale estremamente sottile e l’orologio maschile da polso Emperador. Nello stesso anno apre una manifattura a Ginevra dedicata esclusivamente alla produzione dei gioielli. Tre anni più tardi produce il Calibre 12P spesso solamente 2,3 millimetri: il più sottile self-winding movement al mondo.
